FIRE ALARM SERVICES

INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

We at Canco Services are committed to providing the highest quality turn-key fire protection services.

Design

Our electrical engineers design conventional and addressable fire alarm systems of all sizes. Design process includes site visits (if necessary), CAD drawings and quantities along with design certificates.

Installation

After the initial design, our team finishes all necessary steps in-house, including wiring, installation, and commissioning. In most cases, a zone chart will also be installed near the panel.

Maintenance

Fire alarm maintenance involves four visits annually to ensure the proper functioning of your fire safety system, as required by Irish standards. During these visits, our engineers check log book entries, and examine standby batteries and connections. The assessment includes thorough testing of sounders, inputs, outputs, and signals to the alarm receiving centre. Additionally, a visual inspection is conducted to identify any structural changes within the premises, and the siting of all devices is inspected in accordance with Irish standards. The process concludes with the signing and updating of the log book and certificate, ensuring that your fire safety system remains in optimal condition and compliant with regulations.

Canco Services supply, design, install & service fire alarm systems across all of Ireland, serving cities such as Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Waterford, as well as regions from the South East to the North West, including Wexford, Kilkenny, Sligo, and beyond.

Frequently Asked questions

HOW OFTEN FIRE ALARMS NEED TO BE SERVICED?

According to Irish Standards, all fire alarm systems with more than 20 devices must be maintained quarterly by a competent person.

WHAT IS AN ADDRESSIBLE FIRE ALARM SYSTEM?

In an addressable fire alarm system each device communicates continuously with the fire alarm panel which monitors each item. Each device has a unique identifier that makes it easy to identify the location of a fire, or fault. The location of a fire can be narrowed down accurately to a single detector.

WHAT IS A CONVENTIONAL FIRE ALARM SYSTEM?

A conventional fire alarm system is more simple. All devices are connected in a loop with no unique identifiers therefore their only function is to detect and activate the sounders. The location of a fire can be narrowed down to zones.
