EMERGENCY LIGHTING

DESIGN & MAINTENANCE IN LINE WITH IRISH STANDARDS

Emergency Lighting Design

Whether it's a new build or renovation, emergency lighting must meet certain requirements for the clear indication of escape routes, the minimum level of illumination, and the minimum duration in the event of failure of supply to the normal lighting.

We at Canco offer comprehensive CAD design and DIAlux simulation for Central Battery and Self-Contained emergency lighting systems.

Maintenance

According to Irish Standards, emergency lighting must be maintained quarterly/4 times per year. Our team of engineers ensures your system is up to standards.

Frequently Asked questions

ARE SELF-CONTAINED OR CENTRAL BATTERY SYSTEMS BETTER?

Depends. Self-contained systems usually offer a lower initial investment but more servicing due to each fixture having an individual battery and circuit. In a bigger building with more fixtures or less accessible locations such as high ceilings, investing in central battery system can save service costs on the long-term. Not only that, at larger quantities even the initial cost can be lower for a CBS, as self-contained fixtures are pricier.

HOW OFTEN DO EMERGENCY LIGHTING NEED TO BE MAINTAINED?

According to Irish Standards, IS:3217. Emergency lighting systems must be maintained quarterly/4 times per year.

HOW IS EMERGENCY LIGHTING DESIGNED?

There are a number of requirement to be met such as minimum lux levels and visibility. We at Canco Services design emergency lighting layout plan then create a visual simulation to get the most accurate results and meet Irish Standards.
